Q: What is “High Barrier Bag?”

A: High barrier bags are usually built with a layer of foil in the middle of structure. Nylon is also a high barrier materials used in flexible packaging. Foil is considered the “end all-be all” when it comes protecting products, and is recommended for extremely sensitive products (i.e. Coffee).

Q: What is Low-Medium Barrier Bags”?

A: Low-Medium barrier bags range from clear bags to metalized bags. Metalized bags are built with a foil-like material called Metalized Polyester (i.e. VMPET). These bags are recommended for Teas, Granolas, Snack Food Products, Candies, Chocolates, Pet Food, etc.

Q: Are your packaging bags recyclable?

A: It depends on the materials. Our laminated packaging bags are not recyclable which utilize various layers of plastic based films to ensure high barrier and go beyond typical single-ply structured bags. They first need to be delaminated to be properly recycled. Not many recycling companies offer this service. For the paper based bags (i.e. Kraft pouch), they are eco-friendly and recyclable. We are trying to develop more and more biodegradable materials.

Q: What are your minimum quantities for Custom Printed Bags?

A: For stock bags, the minimum order is 10,000pcs. For custom printing, minimum quantities vary based on the laminate materials being used and total sizes (printing sizes). For accurate and specified details, please send in the physical sizes and designs.

Q: What is the lead time (production time) for a custom packaging bag?

A: Totally it will take about 15-20 days for a regular order. Upon receipt of the advance payment for order confirmation, it will take 2-3 days to have the paper proof approval. Once the proof is approved, engraving of cylinders will need another 4-5 days. Actual production time needs 15 days around depending on the quantities.Sometimes there may be a little different. But we will try to make the delivery as soon as possible for a prompt delivery.For overseas customer, it will require extra 15-30 days for ocean shipping time which vary from destination place to place.

Q: Will you provide a die line (die cut/template) to us for artworks designing?

A: Texin will of course assist you to make an accurate design for your ideal custom-made bags. Please tell your size to our sales and we will work out a custom die line for your designer if necessary.

Q: Does your materials contain any hazardous chemicals or substances?

A: Absolutely not. We have set up a strict materials control system. The materials are all food grade and does not contain hazardous substances.

Q: How many colors can you print?

A: Typically we can print up to 10 colors. In most cases, 8 colors is the maximum numbers in packaging. This includes spot and process colors.

Q: What is the difference between process colors and Pantone colors?

A: Pantone colors is always the first choice if possible. Pantone colors provide a specific color matching, which is more consistent from production run to production run, and are used universally around the world. For process colors, colors targets will be requested or we will work out a color proof for customers’ approval. Process colors refers to “CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black)”, also called Four Colors systems. It is to use 4 cylinders to print overlapping colors in order to create complex images such as photos or graphic images. Any color can be created by overlapping combinations of CMYK.

Q: How many cylinders are required for gravure printing?

A: It is quite different from case by case. The principle is we will try to make the best of artworks by consolidating or add colors as needed. We will keep the colors to the least possible number to minimize the number of required cylinders as to control the costs.
